We had the pleasure of hosting my parents and sister for Christmas this year.  Their suitcases were loaded down with gifts, mostly for Anna Drake who has to be the most-loved, little 14-month-old grandbaby/niece in the world.

Santa’s got nothing on Nanny Kay, who was also responsible for bringing down gifts from Anna Drake’s Nana and Pawpaw (Michael’s parents.)  Somehow, she made it work.  All 150 lbs of it!

One of the best gifts this Christmas didn’t weigh anything at all: a gift certificate for a photography session with Kayla Beiler.  This was one of my dad’s gifts to my mom.  Kayla, who hails from Vancouver just happened to be visiting the BVI for her Christmas holiday, graciously agreed to mix business with pleasure.  We met Kayla a few years ago while she was visiting her boyfriend, Adam, who lived here and taught at Cedar International School.

For the photo shoot, we went to Frenchman’s Cay Hotel on Tortola’s West End where classic Caribbean structures, beautifully maintained grounds and stunning views of the Sir Francis Drake Channel combine for the perfect backdrop!

Here are some of our favorite shots from the session:

  1. Hi, Amelia and family! It’s been a while since I checked in with your sweet clan (you might remember I used to work for your momma, Kay, so I always got updates on her fabulous girls) — but I’m so glad I caught up with your new adventures here. What a fun few months it looks to have been!

Hope you’re doing well, and I just had to holler at y’all. What a cute family!
